Frequently Asked
A reading guide to the house - how we work, what to expect, and how to reach us when something isn't covered here.
About Flavio's
What is Flavio's?
Flavio's is a curated house for small luxury brands. We bring together independent ateliers, makers, and designers, most of them under-the-radar, all of them held to a high standard, and present their work in one considered place.
Think of us as a magazine you can shop from: editorial in tone, careful in selection, and personal in service.
Who is behind it?
Flavio's is run by Tom Fischer and Max Hasenohr. We split our time between Vienna, Berlin, and wherever a new brand happens to be - the search is part of the work. We curate the selection ourselves; every brand on the site has been chosen by us, not submitted to us.
What does "House of High Culture" mean?
It's the philosophy behind the shop. We believe in objects that are made carefully, by people who know their craft, in a register that values restraint and longevity over noise. Menswear, fine art, architecture, literature - all of it lives in the same room for us.
Are the products on flavios.store authentic?
Yes. Every product on the site is sourced directly from the Brand that makes it. We don't work with resellers, marketplaces, or grey-market distributors. The Brand is identified on each product page, and where applicable, certificates of authenticity, care instructions, or material declarations are included with the piece.
Ordering & Payment
How do I place an order?
Add the items you'd like to your basket, click "Checkout", and follow the steps. You'll be asked for shipping and billing details, then for payment. Once you confirm, you'll receive an order confirmation by email within minutes.
Do I need an account to order?
No. You can check out as a guest. Creating an account is optional — it only makes future orders faster and lets you track delivery and order history in one place.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept the major payment methods at checkout, including:
- Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) via Stripe
- PayPal
- Klarna (Pay Later, Pay in 3)
- Apple Pay and Google Pay
- SEPA bank transfer (for select countries)
All payments are processed by certified payment providers. We don't store your card details on our servers.
Are prices shown in Euro?
Yes. All prices are in Euro (EUR) and include applicable VAT. For deliveries within the EU, VAT is calculated for your country at checkout. For deliveries to the UK, Switzerland, and Norway, prices are shown excluding local import taxes - these are payable on arrival.
When is my card charged?
At the moment of order confirmation. If a product turns out to be unavailable after you've ordered, we refund you immediately and let you know.
Can I change or cancel my order after I've placed it?
If your order hasn't been dispatched yet, write to hello@flavios.store as quickly as you can - we'll do our best to catch it. Once an order is on its way to you, we can't intercept it, but you'll always have your statutory right of withdrawal once it arrives.
Shipping & Delivery
Where do you ship?
We ship across Europe. All member states of the European Union, plus the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Norway.
Do you ship outside Europe - to the US, Asia, or Australia?
Not yet. We're focused on serving Europe well first. Wider international shipping is on the roadmap, but we'd rather wait until we can do it properly than offer it half-heartedly. If you're somewhere we don't currently ship to, you can sign up to our newsletter - we'll announce expansions there first.
How long does delivery take?
It depends on the Brand. Each piece ships directly from the atelier or warehouse of whoever made it. Most orders are dispatched within five working days. Some Brands dispatch sooner; smaller ateliers may take longer; made-to-order pieces can take several weeks.
The expected dispatch time is shown on each product page before you order. After dispatch, carrier transit times across Europe are usually 5–7 working days within the EU, and 7–10 working days for UK, Switzerland, and Norway.
If a delivery is taking noticeably longer than expected, write to hello@flavios.store and we'll chase it with the Brand for you.
Where does my order ship from?
Each piece ships directly from the Brand that makes it. Usually their own atelier or warehouse, somewhere in Europe.
What does shipping cost?
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on destination, weight, and where the Brand ships from. For most EU orders, shipping starts at €9. UK, Switzerland, and Norway carry their own rates because they sit outside the EU customs union. The exact cost is shown clearly before you confirm your order.
Will I have to pay customs or import taxes?
Within the EU, no - VAT is included in the price. For deliveries to the UK, Switzerland, and Norway, customs duties and local import taxes may apply on arrival, paid by you, the recipient. The exact amount depends on the value and category of the goods.
How do I track my order?
As soon as your order is dispatched, we send a confirmation email with a tracking link. If anything looks off - long delays, no movement, address questions — write to hello@flavios.store and we'll chase it for you.
What if I'm not at home for delivery?
The carrier will usually attempt redelivery, leave the package with a neighbour, or hold it at the nearest pickup point. The notification card or tracking page will tell you what's happening.
Returns & Refunds
If you're a consumer resident in the European Union, you have a statutory right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving any reason.
How long do I have to return something?
We accept returns at our discretion within 14 days of receipt, provided goods are unused and in original condition.
How do I return an item?
Email hello@flavios.store with your order number and reason for return. We'll send you the correct return address - this is usually the Brand's atelier rather than ours, so it can vary by item.
Pack the item carefully, ideally in its original packaging, and ship it back via a tracked service. We recommend keeping the receipt until your refund is processed.
Who pays for the return?
Under the statutory right of withdrawal, you bear the cost of returning the goods. If an item arrives damaged, faulty, or wrongly described, we cover the return shipping ourselves.
When do I get my money back?
Refunds are processed to your original payment method within 14 days of our receipt of the returned goods, provided the goods are in acceptable condition. Depending on your bank, the refund may take a few additional days to appear on your statement.
Can I exchange instead of returning?
We don't offer formal exchanges, but the practical effect is the same: return the original item, then place a new order for the size or piece you want. This way you don't pay twice and can choose freely.
Are there items I can't return?
Yes, in line with EU consumer law:
- Made-to-order or personalised items (e.g. monogrammed or custom-sized pieces)
- Sealed goods that aren't suitable for return for hygiene reasons, once unsealed
These exceptions are clearly marked on the product page before you order.
Products & Sizing
How do I know if a piece will fit me?
Where the Brand provides one, you'll find a size guide and detailed measurements on the product page.
If you're unsure, write to hello@flavios.store with your usual size and a sense of fit you prefer. We can usually give you specific measurements, or ask the Brand directly.
Are colours on the website accurate?
We do our best - product photos are taken in consistent lighting and colour-corrected. If in doubt, write to us and we can describe the piece in more detail or send additional photos.
Are products in stock?
If you can add it to your basket, it's available. For made-to-order or limited pieces, the product page will tell you the production lead time. If something sells out while you're browsing, you'll see a message at checkout - we'll cancel and refund any affected items.
Can you tell me more about a specific brand?
Yes, gladly. Each brand has a dedicated page on our site - a short editorial introduction, the story behind the maker, and the techniques they use. If you'd like to know more than what's published, email us. We've spent time with every brand on the site and can usually answer in detail.
Do you carry products that aren't on the site?
Sometimes. If you've seen a piece elsewhere from one of our partner brands and don't see it on flavios.store, write to us - depending on the brand, we may be able to source it for you. There's no guarantee, but we're happy to ask.
Care & Authenticity
How should I care for my piece?
Each item ships with care instructions from the Brand. As a general rule: wool gets aired, not washed; leather is conditioned, not soaked; cotton is hand-washed in cold water for the first few times. If your piece needs specialist care (suits, fine knits, vintage-feel pieces), we'll note it on the product page and include guidance with your order.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. Every product is covered by the statutory two-year warranty under German law (§§ 434 et seq. BGB). If a piece is defective on delivery or shows defects in normal use, we repair, replace, or refund - at our discretion within the legal framework. Some brands also offer voluntary guarantees beyond the statutory period; these are noted on the product page.
How do I know the piece is authentic?
Because we buy it directly from the people who make it. There's no resale, no third party, no chance of substitution.
Do you offer repairs?
No. But many of our brands repair their own pieces - for free or at cost, depending on the brand and the issue. If something needs fixing, write to us with photos and a description. We'll connect you with the brand and coordinate the repair from start to finish.
Account & Newsletter
How do I create an account?
Click "Account" in the top right of any page, then "Create account". You'll need an email address and a password. An account stores your address, order history, and tracking - but it's optional, you can always check out as a guest.
I forgot my password.
On the login page, click "Forgot your password?". We'll send a reset link to your registered email. If you don't see it, check spam, then write to us if it's still missing.
How do I delete my account?
Email hello@flavios.store with the subject "Delete account". We'll confirm and process the deletion within a few working days. Some data, like invoices linked to past orders, must be retained for 10 years under German tax law, but is no longer linked to an active account.
What's in the newsletter?
Editorial pieces about brands and craft, occasional previews of new arrivals, and the kind of cultural commentary that fits the house. Roughly twice a month. No promotions every other day - we'd rather send less and have it be worth opening.
How do I unsubscribe?
There's a link at the bottom of every newsletter. One click and you're out, no questions asked.
Privacy & Data
What data do you collect?
What we need to run a shop: your name, address, email, order details, and payment data (handled by certified payment providers - we don't store card numbers). With your consent, we also use cookies for analytics and marketing. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Do you share my data with the brands?
Only what's needed to ship your order - your name, shipping address, and order details. The brand needs this to send you the piece. We don't share email or marketing data with them, and they can't add you to their newsletter without your separate consent.
Can I see what data you have on me?
Yes. Email hello@flavios.store and we'll send you a copy of your data within five working days. You can also ask us to correct, restrict, or delete it. The full set of rights under GDPR is in our Privacy Policy.
For Brands & Partners
I make beautiful things. How do I become a Flavio's brand?
Write to us at hello@flavios.store with a short introduction: what you make, where you're based, who you make it for, and a few links or images. We curate the selection ourselves and read every email. If we're a fit, we'll come back to you with a conversation.
Are you a marketplace?
Strictly speaking, no - we're a curated house. The contract for your purchase is with Flavio's, not with the individual brand. We're responsible to you for the goods, the order processing, customer service, and your statutory rights as a consumer. The brand fulfils the order, but they aren't your contractual counterpart.
Anything else
I have a question that isn't answered here.
Write to hello@flavios.store or call +49 151 296 671 10. One of us - usually Tom or Max - will write back. We aim to respond within one working day, often sooner.
Where can I follow Flavio's?
On Instagram and Pinterest. The newsletter is the most considered version of what we do - Instagram is the everyday one.
How do I make a complaint?
Tell us first. Email hello@flavios.store with the order number and a description, and we'll come back within five working days with a fair solution.
